Teach For Australia welcomes today’s announcement from the Federal Education Minister, the Hon Dan Tehan MP, for an additional $15 million for two initiatives to address shortages in high-quality school leaders and specialist teachers, with a particular focus on science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM).
CEO, Melodie Potts Rosevear, is very pleased for the continued support. “We are grateful for Minister Tehan’s and the Federal Government’s ongoing support, through the High Achieving Teachers Program (HATP), to enlist more great talent to teach and lead our children, regardless of background or postcode, to attain an excellent education – the key to unlocking their potential and the nation’s prosperity.”
This additional funding will allow Teach For Australia to continue to recruit, train and support more high-quality graduates and professionals to teach in schools serving low socioeconomic communities, while achieving a Master’s Degree in Teaching (Secondary) (Professional Practice) with the ACU.
