Bio

Ernie is a professor at Princeton University, has been awarded the 2016 Nobel Prize in Physics. The prize is a credit to him for his work on topology. Before he completed his post-graduate studies, he had already taken a position with the Institut Laue-Langevin, in Grenoble, France where he remained until 1981. After that, he moved to the United States to teach at the University of Southern California. There, he was an Assistant Professor of Physics until 1985. He then left the Golden State to work with Bell Laboratories as a Technical Staff for two years. Then in 1987, he went back to California, this time, to be a Professor of Physics at the University of California, San Diego. He stayed with that university until 1990.
